# Section not found

> section_not_found: HTTP 404, not retryable.

| | |
| - | - |
| Code | `section_not_found` |
| HTTP status | `404` |
| Retryable | No |
| Python | `vaquill.NotFoundError` |
| TypeScript | `NotFoundError` |

## What it means

No section matches the identifier you sent.
The body keeps the legacy members `reason` and `didYouMean` beside the standard ones.

## What to do

Read `reason` to see why the lookup failed.
Try the candidates in `didYouMean` when present.
Use search or the hierarchy browse to find the correct identifier.

## Example response

The `detail` text is illustrative.
`reason` and `didYouMean` carry the values the lookup produced.

```json theme={"theme":"github-light"}
{
  "type": "https://www.vaquill.ai/docs/errors/section_not_found",
  "title": "Section not found",
  "status": 404,
  "detail": "Section not found",
  "code": "section_not_found",
  "retryable": false,
  "requestId": "3f2b8c1e-5a7d-4e9b-9c34-0d6a1b2f7e58",
  "reason": "...",
  "didYouMean": [
    "..."
  ]
}
```

## In the SDKs

The Python SDK raises `NotFoundError` and the TypeScript SDK raises `NotFoundError`.
Both expose `code`, `retryable`, the request id and the retry hint.
See [Error codes](https://vaquill.ai/docs/errors/index.md) for the full table and attribute names.
