Vaquill AI for Word
US statute and regulation lookup, grounded in the Vaquill AI US primary law corpus, inside Microsoft Word. Open source, with a hosted edition or a bring-your-own-key community build you can self-host.
No copy-paste into a separate tab. Ask a legal question in the task pane and get an answer grounded in US statutes and regulations, with checkable citations, right next to the document you already have open.
The add-in requires a Vaquill AI account. Create one free to get started.
What it does in Word
Everything happens on the file you have open, and applies as native Word changes. Every answer carries checkable sources.
Contract review to tracked-change redlines
Clause-by-clause review on the open document with GREEN / YELLOW / RED severity flags. Suggested edits apply as native Microsoft Word tracked changes you accept or reject, not images or PDF overlays.
Playbook-driven review
Run your team’s playbook against a draft: each redline carries a severity, the reason, and a fallback position, plus a sign-off gate and deal-breaker flags that tell you what needs approval before sending.
Drafting from a brief
Generate a first-draft agreement from a plain-English brief, or turn an instruction (“cap the term at three years”) into a tracked-change edit anchored to the exact clause text.
US case-law and statute research
Ask a legal question without leaving Word and get an answer grounded in US case law and the full statute corpus (US Code, CFR, and all 52 state and territory codes), with checkable citations.
Defined terms, figures, and cross-references
Catch undefined or unused defined terms, inconsistent figures and numbers, and broken internal cross-references before the document leaves your desk.
Compare and finalize, send-ready
Redline two versions with real Word Track Changes, run a final QA pass, and produce a clean, send-ready document, all in the file you already have open.
Hosted, or bring your own key
The add-in is open source. Run the hosted edition for full legal intelligence, or the community build on your own AI key, with no account and nothing sent to us.
