The iManage Work connector links your DMS to Vaquill AI. Browse your workspaces, pull documents into a matter, and save finished drafts back into iManage without leaving either system. It uses per-user OAuth over the iManage REST v2 API, so each person authenticates as themselves and sees exactly what iManage already permits them to see. Vaquill AI never holds a shared service account with blanket access to your library.

What you can do

Setup

Setup is two-stage: an administrator configures the tenant once, then each person connects their own account.
1

An Owner configures the tenant

In Settings → Integrations, enter your iManage customer ID and, optionally, a default library ID. This is organization-level configuration and only needs doing once.
2

Each user connects their own account

Individual users then authorize through iManage’s own OAuth flow. They sign in to iManage directly; Vaquill AI never sees their DMS password.
3

Browse and import

Once connected, iManage workspaces appear as a source you can browse, search, and import from.
Attempting to connect before an Owner has configured the tenant returns a clear “iManage is not configured for this organization” error rather than failing obscurely. If you see it, the tenant setup step has not happened yet.

Permissions

Because authentication is per user rather than per organization:
  • You see only what your own iManage account can see
  • Your DMS permissions are enforced by iManage, not re-implemented by Vaquill AI
  • Disconnecting your account revokes Vaquill AI’s access for you alone and leaves colleagues connected
An Owner can remove the tenant configuration entirely, which disconnects everyone.

What happens to imported documents

An imported document becomes a normal Vaquill AI document in the matter you chose: indexed for search, available to chat, usable by workflows, reviewable by Contract Review. Importing copies the document. Later edits in iManage do not flow through automatically; re-import to pick up a new version.

Saving drafts back

A draft written in Vaquill AI can be saved into iManage as a document, so the DMS stays the system of record. Nothing is written back automatically; saving is always an explicit action.

Limitations

  • Import is a point-in-time copy, not a live sync.
  • Availability depends on your plan tier. If the connector does not appear in settings, check Plans, trial, and limits.
  • Requires iManage Work with REST v2 API access enabled on your tenant.
  • Vaquill AI reads and writes documents. It does not manage iManage workspaces, security classes, or retention policies.
